Capacitando.org is an educational and cultural platform dedicated to advancing the teaching, learning, and study of Latino/Hispano/Chicanx history, culture, and language. We believe that educators are essential partners in this work—not only as practitioners, but as co-creators of knowledge, curriculum, and research.
We invite educators who share our mission and values to collaborate with us in developing meaningful, culturally sustaining educational resources.
Our Educational Mission
Capacitando.org exists to support educators by:
- Promoting culturally sustaining pedagogy
- Centering Latino/Hispano/Chicanx histories, identities, and lived experiences
- Supporting linguistic justice and bilingual/multilingual education
- Encouraging critical inquiry into identity, migration, labor, power, and resistance
- Bridging classroom practice, community knowledge, and research

- Community college and university faculty

Areas of Collaboration
Educators may collaborate with Capacitando.org in the following ways:
- Co-developing lesson plans, units, and curricular frameworks
- Sharing pedagogical strategies that support diverse learners
- Contributing classroom-tested Ethnic Studies resources
- Writing reflective pieces on instructional practice and student engagement
- Participating in or contributing to educational research
- Developing professional learning materials for educators
Collaborative work may be practitioner-focused, research-informed, or a blend of both.
