Content for Capacitando.org is curated and produced for the enjoyment of our community. That content is both current and historical, exciting and thoughtful, fun and formative.
At Capacitando.org, we believe our strength comes from within the community. Contributors who share their voices, stories, and expertise help ensure that our content reflects lived experiences, cultural pride, and the needs of the people we serve.

Contribute to Capacitando.org
Capacitando.org is an educational and cultural platform dedicated to uplifting the history, culture, and language of Latino/Hispano/Chicanx communities. We believe knowledge is most powerful when it is shared collectively, rooted in lived experience, and grounded in scholarship, community wisdom, and a commitment to equity.
We welcome contributions from educators, scholars, artists, students, community members, and practitioners who share our mission and values.
Our Mission & Values
Capacitando.org exists to:
- Center Latino/Hispano/Chicanx voices and experiences
- Promote historical understanding, cultural pride, and linguistic justice
- Support educational equity and culturally sustaining pedagogy
- Honor Indigenous, Afro-Latino, Mestizo, and diasporic perspectives
- Encourage critical thinking around identity, migration, labor, power, and resistance
We value work that is inclusive, accessible, and grounded in respect for the communities it represents.
What We’re Looking For
We are open to a wide range of contributions, including but not limited to:
- Articles on history, culture, bilingual language development
- Spanish-language or bilingual content
- Personal narratives and oral history–inspired pieces
- Commentary on language, identity, migration, and community life
Submissions may be academic, community-based, or personal, but should always be thoughtful, accurate, and culturally responsible.
Who Should Contribute?
We encourage submissions from:
- Community historians and cultural workers
- Artists, writers, and storytellers
- Youth and emerging voices (with guidance and support)
You do not need to be formally affiliated with an institution to contribute—community knowledge matters.
Contributor Expectations
All contributors are expected to:
- Align with Capacitando.org’s mission and values
- Respect the dignity and diversity of Latino/Hispano/Chicanx communities
- Avoid harmful stereotypes or deficit-based narratives
- Cite sources when appropriate and honor intellectual labor
- Be open to editorial feedback
Capacitando.org reserves the right to edit submissions for clarity, length, and alignment with our mission.
Credit & Ownership
Contributors will receive clear attribution for their work. Capacitando.org is committed to ethical collaboration and transparency regarding authorship, usage, and educational impact.
